FAAN to close Enugu Airport runway for reconstruction

The runway at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu will be closed for major repairs and works on the airfield with effect from 24^th August, 2019 as disclosed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, said the closure of the runway was aimed at resolving the existing safety/security concerns to flight operations.

She noted that all airlines, passengers and other stakeholders have been notified of the development and the date to reopen the runway will be communicated in due course.
