Prince Kayode Farinto, Managing Director of Wealthy Honey Nigeria Limited and incumbent National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has officially declared his intention to contest for the office of the Vice President of the ANLCA.

The declaration, which was attended by Prince Segun Oduntan, Chairman Tincan Chapter of ANLCA, and other notable members of ANLCA Tincan, took place at the secretariat of the chapter located at NPA Commercial Building in Tincan Island Port, Apapa.

Welcoming Farinto, who was a former chairman of the chapter, Oduntan described Farinto as an enigmatic personality and praised him on contributions to the association at the chapter and the national level over the years, saying that based on this he is qualified for the Vice President of the association.

Oduntan maintained that rigging of elections would not be possible in view of the standards put in place by their National President, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, assuring Farinto of their support.

Speaking, Farinto promised members that if he is elected he would work with the National President on the indigenisation of customs brokerage, payment of 2 percent commission to customs agents and stoppage of hacking of customs licences.

He added that as the Vice President he would add value to his office by contributing positive ideas to the growth of the association, customs brokerage and the industry as a whole.

While assuring his supporters and voters that he would be accessible, the Vice President hopeful said ANLCA would work with the Nigeria Customs to make renewal of licences once in three years.

He equally assured members that the insurance scheme that was abandoned would be resuscitated when he assumes office by working with the elected President.

Speaking on Farinto, Mr. Ojo Akintoye, a seasoned customs broker and Managing Director of Danmeyaki Nigeria Limited, said Farinto has the quality and brilliance to hold the position. ‘Farinto has the quality; he is brilliant and bode enough to face the industry as the Vice President of ANLCA. He will do it,’ Ojo submitted.
