Following the recent tussle between the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Intels Nigeria Limited over non-payment of revenue collected by the latter from boat services carried out to the government coffers, the NPA has come up with a new payment accounts system for the boat services.
Two banks – Fidelity and Zenith – however have been designated by the NPA for collection of all revenues on boat services in its name by operators.
The development was posted on the official website of the NPA as name of the company, vessel name, bill number, date of movement and location of operation must be specified.
According to NPA, “henceforth all payments for NPA boat service operations are made to any of the following banks and such payment should include company name, vessel name, bill number, date of movement and location of operation.”
