Hajia Bola Muse has been elected as the President of the Nigerian chapter of the Women in Maritime Africa (WIMAfrica), a continental body of women operating in the maritime industry in Africa. She is the Managing Director of Bomarah Investment Limited, a Lagos based customs licensed agency.
Muse defeated Mrs. Obiageli Obi and Mrs Rollens Macfoy at the election which came up on December 11, 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The new President promised to promote unity and regional integration among women professional maritime operators in Nigeria and Africa, stressing that concerted efforts would be made to ensure that WIMAfrica Nigeria participates fully in the exploitation of the Blue Economy.
Hajia Muse said she would provide avenues for capacity building for women in shipping and mentor the younger generations towards taking advantage of potentials latent in the maritime and shipping subsector worldwide.
She praised her predecessor Mrs. Jean Chiazor-Anishere who is now the President of WIMAfrica for her industry, forthrightness and unparalleled ability as a leader.
Speaking earlier, Mrs Jean Chiazor-Anishere urged the newly elected executive members to continue with the good legacy of collaboration and dedication to enable them take the association to greater heights.
