In preparation for a hitch free commencement of collection of Practitioners Operating Fees (POF) in Nigerian ports, the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has deployed Training Officers to the headquarters of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), in Apapa Lagos.
The officers who have also been posted to all zonal offices of NAGAFF nationally are to assist in guiding freight forwarders and customs agents on the processes and procedures of POF collection.
According to a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of NAGAFF, Forwarder Stanley Ezenga, all freight forwarders and licensed customs agents are instructed to come forward to the headquarters and zonal offices for adequate training on how and what to pay regarding the Practitioners Operating Fees. Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja (North Central) for
guidance/assistance in documentation and assessment of fees payable in
their transactions. You are expected to present your original import bill
of lading and/or certified copy for proper assessment. The declarant in
this regard shall be based on your RFF number given to you by the Council
for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria as a registered
freight forwarder. All payments are made to the TSA account of the
Federal Government of Nigeria.
NAGAFF advised those who have reservations about CRFFN and POF collection to approach the court for adjudication.
