Advises them to retrace their step or fizzle out
Some top officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have been accused of fueling the leadership crisis rocking the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) as they are the one bankrolling Prince Taye Oyeniyi, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, Sir Ernest Elochukwu and others to disturb the peace of the association.
ANLCA, since 2017, has been rocked by the crisis over the composition of its Board of Trustees. And within this period, the association has been in and out of court in search of peace; all to no avail.
Mr. Kayode Farinto, Vice President of the association, accused the Nigeria Customs Service while reacting to some concerning statements on the crisis on social media today.
Farinto said that the President of the association Mr. Tony Iju Nwabunike and his executive members have done all they could to resolve the matter but Prince Taye Oyeniyi, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, Sir Ernest Elochukwu and others have rejected the olive branch Nwabunike extended to them.
Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, according to Farinto, was smuggled into the Board of Trustees by Prince Olayiwola Shittu, the immediate past president, with only N500,000 and was never qualified to be in the Board because he has never held any elective position in ANLCA which could have qualified him to be.
He advised them to retrace their step or fizzle out soon like smoke.
Here is the detail of Farinto’s reaction:
I saw your outburst and wondered why you would allow sentiments to becloud your good reasoning. First and foremost, permit me to inform you that Hon Tony Iju Nwabunike-led NECOM (National Executive Committee) has tried all efforts to make peace until we discovered that these actors behind this issue are fifth columnist and few money bags that have been elements used by some management of Nigeria Customs service in order that ANLCA should not have peace because they know it is a formidable association.
Please kindly investigate the actors as stated. Prince Taye Oyeniyi’s antecedent in the association has been a thorn in the flesh of every ANLCA’s administration and it is even on records that he started ANLCA 2 during the Era of Sir Elochukwu. Unfortunately, someone like Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha is a Customs apologist and he has inordinate ambition and he has forgotten that he was smuggled into the BOT on ANLCA by Prince Shittu. It amuses me when people deliberately pretend not to know the real trouble maker. Let me inform you that there have been over 9 Court cases against our administration and we have never instituted anyone because we believe in the internal mechanism of the association that any aggrieved member must follow it.
Furthermore, we had our Board election late last year at Owerri where even the executive governor (Hope Uzodinma, Imo State) attended and lectured us. Most of the governor’s observation in his speech is playing out. In the political arena, you can only claim to be this or that when you have the mandate of the people. What is playing out is just a politics of shenanigans by people that ought to be leaders of the association. They turned themselves into destroyer and sadist. Please kindly do a thorough job on the actors and you will appreciate what I am saying.
Alhaji Mustapha has never been any executive of the association but was brought in through the back door with just Five Hundred Thousand Naira by some actors. Please ask Prince Shittu to explain this statement to you and in case you want to know the details, wait for my memoir coming out later this year. My advice for them is that if they are not used spent, they should come back to their house, apologize and let us see how to solve the numerous problems facing our members. They will frizzle out like smoke if they won’t retrace their steps. The younger agents today is (are) faced with numerous problems and being choked. There is no direction yet on how we can achieve the Africa continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and also we are losing our jobs to foreigners. Some of them are fronts for them anyway. Check whoever claims to be a terminal operator amongst them and you will see them as a front for foreigners.
Finally, prosperity with judge everyone in no distance time on the role we have individually or collectively played, either negatively or positively for or against the association.
