The Chairman of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL), Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi has reiterated his commitment to continue to invest in the aviation Industry.

Afolabi stated this at Grand Hotel and Resort, Asaba, Delta State after he was honoured by the Nigerian Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) with the ‘NUATE Philanthropic Award’ during the union’s Quadrennial National Delegates Conference and Awards Ceremony recently.

The award, according to NAUTE, was in recognition of Afolabi’s immense contribution to the growth and development of transportation in Nigeria. The theme of the conference was ‘Public Private Partnership in Aviation, with Perspectives from three key stakeholders; investor, Labour, and Management.”

The SAHCOL Chairman, who was represented by Mr. Basil Agboarumi, Managing Director/CEO of SAHCOL, stated that today’s workplace was in continuous need of partnership of all stakeholders and maintained that he has always partnered with labour to create industrial peace and harmony for the purpose of business growth and development in the country.

He said that he would continue to give priority to employees in all his business dealings and thanked the entire leadership and membership of NUATE for deeming it fit to pick him for the award.

The award presentation was attended by eminent Nigerians, labour and chief executive officers in private and public sector, and delegates to the conference.

SAHCOL’s impact in the Nigerian aviation ground handling sector since it was privatized and handed over to the SIFAX Group in 2009 is evidenced by its array of awards and recognition received from 2009 till date in recognition of the Company’s strides and innovation in building a brand in line with global standards. The awards are a confirmation of the company’s vision to be the leading provider of Passenger, Ramp and Cargo Handling Services in West Africa.
