NAWOJ Election: Aisa Cole thanks NUJ Chairman, others for her victory

Hajia Aisha Omolabake Cole, Assistant National Secretary, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has thanked the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, and member of his executive for supporting her to emerge as the Assistant National Secretary of NAWOJ in the just concluded NAWOJ election held in Abuja last week.

Cole thanked the NUJ Chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, while speaking with PortNews today, noting that without Ajayi and other notable personalities supporting her she would not be victorious.

According to Cole, who is a staff of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), “to our number one Journalist in Lagos, my boss, my mentor, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, and his executives for their sacrifices and financial support in ensuring our victory after the election.

“To my most sincere, kindhearted, faithful mother., grate mentor, a kind maker, queen’s mother and ever dependable boss, Hajia Hadizah Ify Omowole, for spending time and unflinching hospitality which led to my victory by defeating my opponent with 153 votes.

“I will like to appreciate our immediate past Vice President B Zone, Mrs Bola Akingbeyin, for her sparing her time in ensuring that Lagos deliver me as the Assistant National Secretary.

“To my Number one person in NUJ NAN Lagos, Afobaje Yunus Yusuf, I will also thank you most sincerely for planing the election. I thank you for providing logistics, mobilising and ensuring that delegates were comfortable during the election.

“I thanked all my colleague and friends who left their comfort homes for three days in ensuring that we won the election. I am indebted to all of you. May Almighty God be there for you at any point of need.”
