Nigerian Trade Minister, NIMASA DG to attend Trade & Investment Summit 2020

The Nigerian Minister of Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, among others, are expected to participate in the Trade & Investment Summit 2020 on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

The summit had earlier scheduled for Thursday 22nd October 2020 but postponed due to the civic unrest all over the country .

This was contained in a press statement made available to PortNews by Mr. Asuquo Nuwak, the Head, Media & Logistics, Trade & Investment Summit 2020, in Lagos.

The theme of the summit is “Harnessing the Potentials of Trade and Investment for National Economic Growth and sustainability.”

Speaking on the purpose of the summit, Asuquo Nuwak said ‘’the main aim of the summit is to brainstorm on the need to create a conducive environment for the pursuit of trade, industry, investment and other economic activities of interest to the private sector. The unique Summit is specifically designed to provide participants with essential knowledge that will create flexibility in their business environment. With a rare assembly of quintessential speakers, iron self-disciplined participants and industry executives from trade, industry and investment. The summit promises an exciting opportunity for knowledge, networking and business development.

‘’However, efforts are being made by the present administration to address the current challenges with a view to promote efficiency and industrial harmony. There is absolute need for an exhaustive interaction and exchange of ideas and opinions between the government and trade, investment and commerce resolution of all existing issues of conflict among the stakeholders, but will also help the government in evolving the right policies and measures that can stimulate economic growth, which would also be seen to be stakeholder’s friendly.’’

Participants expected include the Minister of Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, among others. The guest lecturer is Professor Bongo Adi from Pan Atlantic University, Lagos and Dr Simon Onyeka, Managing Director/CEO, SoftTran Systems limited will serve as the chairman.
