SAHCO MD wins Pan-African, Northern Youth Council awards

The Managing Director/CEO of Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO), Basil Agboarumi has won awards of the African Patriotic Personality and Garakuwan Matassan Arewa/ICON of Nation Building.

Both awards were presented to Mr. Basil Agboarumi by the Pan-African Student Movement (PASM) and the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN).

Presenting African Patriotic Personality award to Agboarumi at the SAHCO headquarters in Lagos, Mr.Kobehi Kossa, who is from Cote d’Ivoire, said the award was conferred on Agboarumi in recognition of his sterling leadership quality that promotes African moral values, family life, corporation and international harmony.

PASM is a democratic student platform that does not discriminate on the basis of religion, gender, ethnic or sectional items. PASM is involved in contributing to topical national issues, capacity building, and campaigns about the various vices that affects youths and is also active in honoring exemplary individuals and corporate bodies who have contributed to national development.

Garakuwan Matassan Arewa/ICON of Nation Building by the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) was conferred on SAHCO MD based on his immense contributions to the aviation sector and the nation at large.

According to NYCN President, Dr. Isa Abubakar, Mr. Basil Agboarumi has been a unifying factor in Nigeria based on his antecedent as a man who spent most of his youthful years in Northern Nigeria, contributed immensely to the growth of the region and even wrote a book while he was there.

In his response, the Managing Director/CEO who was overwhelmed by the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria encomium said he was joyful and happy that the council found him worthy of the award. He said the objective that drives the NYCN is a good one.

He advocated that whatever God gives to us, we must make the best use of it stating that what the organization stands for, drives his life and promised to support the organization in whatever way he can so as to ensure they continue to do their best to ensure we have a better society.
