The new Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Bauchi/Gombe Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Bello Mohammed Jibo has visited the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manessa Daniel Jatau at the Government House in Gombe during a familiarization tour of his command in the state. 

This development was contained in a press statement issued by the command.

Comptroller Jibo thanked the Deputy Governor for the support and cordial relationship existing between the command and the state government. 

In his remarks, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Jatau, a former Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, promised to solidify the already existing relationship and also affirmed that his doors would always remain open to the command on all issues whether professionally or otherwise.

Comptroller Jibo had earlier visited the Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Dr Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu and solicited the cooperation of the palace and the community while understanding that Customs as partners in progress is interested in the welfare and development of Nigeria. 

He noted that Nigeria has beginning to reap the gains of the border restrictions which he said were signs of better days ahead.

Welcoming the Comptroller Jibo into his palace, the Emir expressed his happiness for the visit and prayed for the success of the Controller, his team and the general peace, unity and progress of the nation. 

Before visiting the two personalities, Comptroller Jibo had held an interaction with officers and men of the command and declared to them that his administration would not condone any form of misconduct and charged them to be dedicated to their duties.

On the ravaging COVID-19, the Customs Area Controller advised them to maintain a high level of self awareness and preservation to curb the spread of the disease.

 Jibo also visited the newly built housing estate for officers and implored the occupants to use the facilities judiciously and endeavour to maintain them excellently for the benefit of their successors.
