The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has mourned the demise of Architect Ferdinand Agu, a former Director General of defunct Nigerian Maritime Agency (NMA), now Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
Ferdinand Agu passed away in Abuja after a brief illness last week.
In a statement, the President-General of the Union, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, who is deeply pained by the sudden death of Agu, described him as a guru who took his time in transforming the maritime, saying his death was sudden and a collosal loss to the sector.
“Ferdinand was a guru in the Maritime Sector, who took his time in transforming the industry, which most of his predecessors are now building upon after he exited the foremost maritime agency in the country,” said Comrade Adewale Adeyanju.
Comrade Adeyanju prayed that the Almighty God grant him eternal rest and also give his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
