On the occasion of his 365 days in office, the National President of Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Honourable Tony Iju Nwabunike has commended members of his National Executive Committee (NECOM) for high integrity and their sense of oneness thus achieving giant strides in one year.

Iju was especially appreciative of the result they posted even when he took a leave of absence to pursue partisan politics in Anambra State. “They were united in purpose and mission and they achieved so much. I thank them, I doff my hat for them. Look at the biometrics identification certificate they came up with, it separates the good customs brokers from touts and gives ANLCA and the profession respect in the public,” he told PortNews in Lagos last week.

The ebullient President noted that the exco have within one year built a computerised library for all ANLCA members to conduct researches about their profession. There is a Master Class where senior members of the profession are trained and given updates about the latest technologies and techniques of the freight forwarding profession. “We have trained about three hundred members in the last one year,” disclosed Mr President.

The ANLCA President also sent words of appreciation to the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service Col. Hammed Ali and the entire customs hierarchy for their support to his administration. “Our relationship with the C.G is cordial, even though it can be better operationally, and we will strive to achieve that in the years ahead,” he opined.
